REMINDER: Final Chance to Contact City Hall Tonight
Tonight (Tuesday, Feb. 24) the City Council is scheduled to vote on the Safety Enhancement ordinance affecting the STLP program.
NBSTRA has made meaningful progress getting Council’s intent clearly stated in the staff report – but it’s still important that Council hears directly from responsible permit holders and local managers. (Read our full update here: https://www.nbstra.com/nbstra-news-resources-and-updates/nbstra-progress-safety)
If you haven’t acted yet – please do one (or both) of these today:
1) Email City Hall (still counts today):
Send written comments to cityclerk@newportbeachca.gov. Materials received before 2:00 PM today will be provided to Council in hard copy at the meeting.
Also email citycouncil@newportbeachca.gov so every Council office receives your note (even if you’re sending late).
2) Come speak in person tonight (especially if you’re local):
The meeting begins 4:00 PM at City Council Chambers, 100 Civic Center Drive. Keep comments short, respectful, and in the same constructive tone as NBSTRA’s letter:
thank Council for putting its intent on the record,
support Spring Break safety and strong enforcement, and
urge better collaboration with NBSTRA going forward.
Thank you for staying engaged – this is exactly how we protect a workable STLP program while keeping Newport Beach safe and welcoming.
