Spain - Spanish court rejects Airbnb appeal and keeps order to block nearly 66,000 listings

  • Ruling means government can proceed with delisting nearly 66,000 homes from AirBNB and other short-term rental sites.

Jefferson County, CO - County proposes new short-term rental regulations

  • Headlines like this can often spell trouble, but in this case, it appears to be a positive development. The new regulations will ease permitting and procedures for properly licensed and operated STRs and crack down on unlicensed and poorly-operated homes.

Maui, HI - Maui vacation rental bill again draws supporters, opponents

  • The second of four hearings over the proposal to ban over 6,000 STRs on the island and force their conversion to long-term rentals took place this week, drawing heated discussion from both sides.

South Lake Tahoe, CA - South Lake Tahoe opens short-term rental permits after Measure T overturned

  • The 2018 voter-approved ban on most STRs in South Lake Tahoe was thrown out by the Courts as unconstitutional, and now the City is re-accepting permit applications.

  • Note that the same team helping manage the Newport Beach Short-Term Rental Alliance was involved in the effort to overturn the ban in South Lake Tahoe.
